Donate a piece of clothing

Hello everyone. My name is Akuma and I’m 12 years old. Here in Africa, a land baked by the scorching sun, my younger siblings and I battle hunger and illness every single day. While other children go to school with their backpacks, I walk for three hours under the blazing sun, just to find murky water in the dried-up riverbed.
Last rainy season, my mother succumbed to a sudden bout of malaria. In an attempt to buy her medicine, my father has accumulated a huge debt. Now, we live in a tiny shack made of rusty tin sheets and thatched grass. At night, we’re often jolted awake by the howling wind and pelting rain. My younger brother has been suffering from a fever and diarrhea since last month, after drinking contaminated water. But we don’t even have enough money to take him to the clinic.
My biggest dream is to have clean water to drink, a full meal to eat, and the chance to study in a classroom like other children. I’ve heard that knowledge can change one’s destiny. I want to learn how to read, write, and do arithmetic, so that I can cure my brother’s illness and take care of my sister in the future.
